2022 DPA Special event

  • CQUniversity 160 Ann Street Brisbane City, QLD, 4000 Australia (map)

The Diversity Practitioners Association is proud to present a half-day, practical, skill-building workshop for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practitioners and advocates with Dr Michael Flood and Kristy Macfarlane.

This event will combine research-based technical knowledge with practical strategies to equip attendees to progress the implementation of D&I initiatives within the organisations they work with. Our experts will guide us through a contemporary examination of:

  • inclusion in action - how to embed inclusivity into people processes and decision making

  • psychological safety and how to foster it

  • key biases - how to spot common biases in recruitment, talent, succession and performance

  • resistance and backlash - how best to plan for, mitigate, and respond to it

  • designing for intersectionality

  • engaging effectively for buy-in

Held in-person at CQU’s Brisbane CBD Campus on Ann St, the morning will include opportunities for discussion and questions, plus the chance to connect with other local DPA members, practitioners, and advocates over morning tea. It’s suited to people engaged in implementing, leading, or supporting diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across all industries.

We've written more about why this event is so special to to the DPA on our in a post entitled: 5 factors that set DPA's September workshop apart
